FAMILY FUN OUTING AT ASSINIBOINE PARK 2016
We had another great field trip at Assiniboine park on July 22, 2016!
The diverse group of 251 attendants included Indigenous people, Canadian citizens and immigrants from 20 different countries. The day started with Drumming and Smudging from the Indigenous people who welcomed all the newcomers on their new land. There were also lots of games and activities for both children and adults, such as potato sack race, 3-legged race and other popular relay games. Every kid had a toy to take home! At 12 pm, we all gathered for a picnic lunch and a group photo before taking a walk in the park. Some guys were taking lots of pictures and moved slowly, so they only visited the Conservatory, while others walked to the Leo Mol garden and the Nature Playground.
Thank you, volunteers and staff for organising such a beautiful field trip!
